Hello everyone! Its been a while and I hope there are still some of you lingering in the void my blog has become! This week’s topic is anticipated book to movie adaptations. Funnily enough, there aren’t a whole lot of book adaptations I’m looking forward to (if you don’t count Marvel/DC superhero movies, which I kind of do). If you’d asked me this same question ten years ago, I could’ve named 6-7 right off the top of my head between Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, and Twilight. For today’s list, I had to go digging through IMDb to see what I could find. I was surprised by the number of YA books that have been optioned for movies and I hope that most of them make it through the production process because some of them would make terrific movies.

Halloween Top Ten Tuesday

Happy Tuesday before Halloween everyone! I was feeling in the holiday spirit and redid some of my banners. Super simple and super cheesy but I love decorating for the holidays and the little witch’s hat was simply too cute to resist when I saw it in my photo editor. In keeping with the Halloween spirit, this week’s Top Ten topic is a freebie Halloween theme. Since I’m not a huge fan of horror, the most traditional Halloween topic, I’m just doing a grab bag list which will include horror, monster stories, and stories that have creepy Gothic settings. The witching hour is upon us so let’s get started!

I’m so excited about this topic because thinking about all of the great author team-ups that could happen makes me really want to shove said authors into a room together and MAKE them write something for my own personal gratification. I’m going to warn you now that you’re going to see my favorite authors popping up over and over again because I can’t help myself 😀

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Bookish Things I Want to Quit or Have Quit

I’m back! Did you miss me? Actually, don’t answer that. I’m halfway through my first midterm exam week (I have a couple more coming up next week and I’m trying really hard not to think about it) and my last shifts filling in for the HR lady at my job are at the end of this week so my life will hopefully go back to normal soon. I feel so disconnected because the only things I’ve been able to do is work, go to school, sleep, and read a couple of pages from my book in between classes. I’m getting student teaching flashbacks! I finally finished The Collector last week and will have a deliciously scathing review out for it sometime this week (or next week. Or whenever.) and I’ve started the first Percy Jackson book. I’m so happy that I might cry because I’m actually ENJOYING this book. Its not perfect by any means, but its fun and has some interesting twists on Greek mythology. I guess October is going to be Percy Jackson & Friends Month for me.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Ten Bookish Things We Want to Quit or Have Quit. The Broke and the Bookish ladies gave us some pretty wide parameters for this topic but I unfortunately don’t have enough brainpower or imagination to come up with a complete list of ten so it’s more like a top five list. Oops. Here we go!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on my Fall (and Winter) TBR

Top Ten Tuesday 1

Hello everyone! It’s another week, another Tuesday. I’ve been incredibly bored the last couple of days because I actually managed to get too far ahead on my homework (I know, I’m still wondering if the real me got abducted by aliens) but my reading selections still aren’t wowing me. I decided to go back to some of my old roots and picked up a Nora Roberts romance. I’m not finding it as thrilling I used to find her books, but it’s not horrible, so I’m staying optimistic. As for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic, I’m going to be sharing some books I’m eagerly awaiting so I can add them to my monstrous TBR pile. As I don’t have enough Fall releases on my list, I’m also going to talk about some Winter 2015-2016 releases as well. This list isn’t ranked in any particular order. Hope you enjoy!

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Favorite Manga Series

Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s been forever and a half and I mostly blame that on my poor reading choices. I’ve been struggling to get through A Thousand Pieces of You and I have an unhealthy obsession with finishing what I start, so I’m probably going to be cringing my way through it until the end of the week. I’ve been having a really bad book year <sigh>. On a happier note, this week’s topic is a freebie, so I decided to talk about some of my favorite manga, one of my many guilty reading pleasures. As I’m sure happens with most people, I stumbled upon manga accidentally through anime. I grew up watching reruns of the dubbed Sailor Moon, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, and Digimon. Actually, now that I’m thinking back on it, that pretty much sums up my entire adolescent television experience in a nutshell. In high school, I found out the original Japanese version of Sailor Moon was comprised of more episodes and more seasons (Cartoon Network only played Season 1 & 2 on loop) so I decided that the only logical thing to do was to re-watch the series in Japanese. This decision kick-started what I like to call Molly’s Obsessive Cycles. I did nothing but watch anime my senior year of high school. I devoured probably close to fifty different shows and when I couldn’t find any new ones to hold my attention, I moved on to manga. I fell in love with manga because they were easy to read, easy to find online, and usually continued/concluded some of my favorite anime series. Since my freshman year of college, I’ve probably read over a hundred series, so picking my top ten will be difficult. <cracks knuckles> Let’s get to it then!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Finished Series That I Have Yet to Finish (or Start)

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today marks week two of Molly’s College Experience, Take 2. I’m still ahead on homework and reading so that makes keeping up with blogging ten times easier. This week’s topic is one that I frequently think about because there are several series I loved in high school that I never finished because Molly’s College Experience, Take 1 got in the way. I’m modifying this topic slightly to include finished series that I SHOULD read as well as series I have read, but haven’t finished. Without further ado, let’s begin!
